Well, it finally happened and ended up in the ER / ICU / Hospital for the first time in my life!! From Pulmonary Failure due to COPD and had to be rushed here via 911 / Ambulance. I was obviously unconscious for the first 36 hours, but was eventually conscious and for the remaining 2 day stay here. I have no complaints at all, other than the bill and what human being doesn’t complain about bills though. To be honest that would be a Health Care Industry conversation anyways. But, as far as the Facility and Team goes I have no complaints whatsoever. I felt very well taken care of, the Team displayed compassion and empathy for myself / situation. Intensive Care Unit (ICU), was very comfortable and in my inexperienced opinion included everything needed. The ICU Team, again showed compassion and empathy. Then after being transferred to “Medical / Surgery” (Floor 3), I was placed in a room alone which was very comfortable and included much more personal amenities since I was considered stable at this point in time. The “Medical / Surgery” (Floor 3) Team, was very thorough and I was well taken care of on almost an hourly basis. The food, being “hospital food” was still very good in my opinion and was of good quality plus good portion sizes. Every single one of my request(s), was taken care of and in a timely manner. Hopefully, I never have to return for another stay and if I happen to I will comfortably knowing everything stated above.

I was in emergency care and came in by ambulance. Then was checked into the hospital for fractured hip. The surgery was set up for the next morning @ 8 and everyone came by to intro duce themselves. I did not know of the orthopedic surgeon, but once meeting him felt I was in good hands. He is an excellent surgeon and I was very lucky to get him.I was able to get up and walk around on a limited basis the next day. The staff on my floor was excellent, as was the food in the hospital. I am on a special diet and they checked with me everyday as to what I wanted to eat. I was definitely pleased with time there as a patient. I also want add that they came in and cleaned my room everyday.

Everyone in labor & delivery was absolutely amazing! My nurse, Taylor, was really there for me during labor and she was very intuitive to what I wanted/needed. My recovery nurse, Libby, was also awesome and she would keep me informed on when the next checks would be and she was just very sweet for the 2 days I had her. Dr. Bryan and Dr. Nelson were so great when they checked on my new baby boy. Everyone I came into contact with during my stay, was wonderful. This was my second delivery at HCA Fort Walton and I will continue to highly recommend it!

Mom & Dad are snowbirds, and Mom was having a medical emergency while we were visiting, and we took her to the ER. It was a very good experience. Quick, attentive, good communication. Hospital admittance was necessary, and she was there for a few days. She very much liked each doctor, specialist and physical therapist that assisted her. Special shout-out to nephrology and podiatry. Her nurses were very kind and attentive, and put her at ease in every way. Everyone was in good communication with her. Can you believe she loved the food?! Our only complaint was we could have used a social worker's guidance to help us with what came after release. This part wasn't clear, and since none of us are actual residents of the area, we needed guidance. They said it was "time to vacate the bed," but Mom was still immobile, needed a rehab center, and we didn't receive lead-time to arrange it. So we had to do some self-advocating, but once all parties aligned and the rehab center was set up, she is safely recovering there now. We are grateful for the care she received at HCA.

My labor and delivery experience here was amazing and beyond expectation! As a mother of 8, delivering my previous 7 babies in Alabama, my experience here in Fort Walton with my last baby was unforgettable. I came into the ER for a scheduled induction and every single staff member I encountered was extremely pleasant and helpful.

My labor and delivery nurses were phenomenal. I know ones name is Shauna, she was being trained by someone I can’t remember her name but they were both angels! Extremely encouraging, attentive, and considerate to my needs. They both stayed by my side the entire day!

My midwife Kim, from DianaHealth was so sweet and patient. I’ve never felt so in control of my birth plan before. Any need or request I had was supported and quickly met!

My postpartum nurse Rebecca, was once again, also amazing! I was expecting to have nurses continuously running into my room while I was trying to recover …not here!! They make sure to give you plenty of privacy and rest with minimal disturbances. Any time I did need anything though, they would be in my room instantly and get it handled. I never had to wait on anything I needed. They hopped on it!

Every nurse, midwife, anesthesiologist etc was very informative and gentle. I appreciate how well they explained every procedure/action they took and ensured they had my consent before doing anything. I truly felt heard and supported!

Didn’t mean to write an entire novel, I am just so appreciative of this birthing experience. It was amazing compared to what I’ve been through at other hospitals. I will forever be grateful and cherish this memory.

I had a nasty spider bite on Wednesday morning at progressively got worse throughout the day I got to the hospital about 9:30 p.m. I was out of there in less than an hour Chase was the greatest ever those guys knew what they were doing they were busy as usual so busy that they came out and saw me in the waiting room but they got me my meds and I had the chance to meet a great guy. GO CHASE!! THANK YALL

Everyone here is just absolutely amazing in every way. From housekeeping to surgery the care was top tier, the food is great, the surgeon saved my leg and the care after was unmatched. Every person who came into my room (and many people came in to check on me)made me feel so grateful to be here.Nurse Shannon was a true life saver as well, she made me laugh and lifted my spirits so much but everyone was so fantastic if I knew their names they would be on here as well. They took the time to talk to me and helped me so much, they were so kind.Thank you all for everything you do, I wish for a happy life for all of you. ✨🐉🤗💜
