My experience was solely in the waiting room and the registration desk. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. I had hoped to get the cast off my left wrist. I was told that "We don't have the equipment to remove your cast." Fast forward, I received a bill totaling $2,000+ !!! My insurance company has already paid over $600 towards this bill. This is preposterous and I have reported this as fraudulent billing to my insurance provider. They are investigating on my behalf

I would expect the first one to greet a patient in triage would be a caring friendly nurse. I got the woman from hell ! But thank God the level of care went way up from there. The nurse who got my case really worked hard with the Dr to get me stable and in a position to transfer to a room. I have no idea of any names of these people but they were all life savers except the nurse from hell that will always be in the back of my mind.

While I was at Englewood Hospital for 4 days for pneumonia, I was treated with respect, understanding, my nurse always explained the medication and usage. The nurses are the best you can ask for in a community hospital. My husband & I were totally surprised at the professionalism and wonderful care. Even though I desperately wanted to get out of there and get home, they made sure my vital signs were ok to go home.

The ER Team was wonderful. They gave immediate attention to me when I arrived at the ER, taking me back to a room immediately. Dr. Thomas was the doctor on duty and he was great. He was attentive, sympathetic, very professional and very much focused on what he was doing. Dr. Thomas told me that I was being admitted, but, unfortunately, a room wasn't available yet so I would be spending the rest of the early morning with them, in the ER. Dr. Thomas, the nurses and the tech's made that additional time in the ER a good experience. They stopped by to check on me often, asked how I was doing and could they do anything else for me, or get me anything. The whole ER experience was definitely a positive one.

Having been a patient here 14 months prior to this event helped in the administrative process where I was taken in immediately and the Staff addressed my needs rapidly.
The nutritional and nursing staff was exceptional and supportive of my extremely rare autoimmune disease. They help stabilize me and then transfer me to a larger facility that had specific specialized needs.

Very nice hospital . The staff are always there if I need them. Marilyn is the best. She gave a good bath because I spill my food . I got all syrup on my body. She is a great person.i told her I will tell the boss to gave her a good raise. And the housekeeping is there right away to clean my room and her name.Marcelline.

I was extremely dissatisfied with Englewood Hospital. On Saturday October 19th I stepped on a piece of glass. It was extremely painful and I or my wife could not get it out. I went to the E.R to get medical attention, thinking it would be much easier for them to remove the piece of glass. I arrived and and was seen seen very quickly , the staff are superb and friendly. They gave me a tetanus shot and took x-rays. But after 2.5 hours they sent me home without extraction the shard. The paperwork said if the pain persists to see my orthopedic Dr. I was extremely upset and still in a lot of pain. I ended up going, later in the afternoon, to a walk in clinic and they removed the piece of glass and eleviatated my pain. in less than 1 hour. I am sure my bill will be very high from the hospital and my medical needs were not taken care of.
I would have expected better medical care. Once again I must state that the support staff was awesome but the outcome was terrible.
I have sent a couple of complaints to the Hospital but received no feedback from them.

Not the best service. I’ve been an Englewood resident for many years and I have had to go to the hospital a handful of times unfortunately due to some ongoing issues. This last couple of times has been met with more unhappy workers than I had experienced in previous years. In fact this last time I had to sit and wait at check in to the ER with the volunteer profusely apologizing she could not help me because she was not qualified and was waiting on a healthcare worker to come back to the desk. I will say that the Volunteer was super sweet about everything. Once I was finally in triage, I did not feel comfortable with the treatment that I was receiving, and in fact, I got the feeling that I was more of a burden to them than anything. I myself do not like having to turn to the ER for treatment however for this situation even with Insurance and a Primary Doctor, it was my only option at the time. I feel like they truly did not put half the effort in to my treatment and were more aggravated than anything. Not the true care and concern and comforting nature I would think they should have been. I’ve been at this hospital more than once and even a stay after a surgery years ago and it was SO much better then. I feel like since the HCA takeover it’s gone downhill with patient care. Hoping it changes but in the future I’ll be going to SMH Venice or Sarasota, if God forbid the need arises. Do better HCA Englewood, everyone is going through a rough time in our community, I understand all of you are as well however a place responsible for patient & community health care should do much better!
