This is a very small office which is nice. Very personal and as a patient, you don’t feel like you’re just part of an assembly line. Dr. Ramirez is so knowledgeable, informative, comforting, and professional. The medical assistant that helped my self and my son on several visits was a complete sweetheart; accommodating, asked how our weekend was, etc.
Then there’s the secretary. She is one of the most unprofessional and lazy people I’ve encountered in a long time. Abrupt and rude on the phone. Condescending in person. Her only job is to collect co payments and stare at the schedule. My insurance didn’t renew their contract with this office. I never received a letter from my insurance. That being said, my daughters appointment has been on their schedule for at least a month. She was very clear to have to collect all insurance information over the phone prior to making the appointment. She didn’t have the energy to tell me that it wasn’t going to be accepted? She kept the appointment on the schedule to wait for us to come in and waste our time? As a mother, I know many can relate to the complexity of scheduling appointments and making it work between work, school, extra curricular, etc. so to show up and have her blatantly tell me no, and then just repeat over and over about a mystery letter I was supposed to get from my insurance company, with zero accountability to her job, the patients, and the schedule. My son and I were in not two weeks prior for an exam and got blood lab orders. What was the point of getting our blood drawn. The secretary told me we would have to pay to have the doctor review there results with us. At one point last month I had tried to reschedule an appointment and she said that her system had crashed and I’d just have to call later. That was her same excuse today when she wasted my and my daughters time for an appointment that was void. So patients are just showing up and she’s winging it? No schedule? It’s a cop out. Also, when I asked if the office sent appointment reminders when I was in last linty, she told me that she didn’t have time for that.
It’s always sad to me that doctors of such a high caliber can put the responsibility and trust of their office into such uneducated ignorant office secretaries with zero work ethic. I don’t know her name but she looked like a “Gertrude”. I hope Dr. Ramirez realized that the first person his patients interact with is the secretary. She should be the face and voice of the office. And Gertrude ain’t cutting it.

My wife, Jenny and I, have been seeing Dr Ramirez for nearly 30 years as our primary care physician. He is an excellent doctor and has seen us through many illnesses and injuries. He takes the time to listen carefully and makes sure he addresses our concerns with professionalism and kindness. We trust his judgement. His staff of Kathleen and Hortensia are always friendly, courteous and responsive.

Dr. Hector Ramirez is a super likable and caring physician, great with kids, and takes his time to explain things in simple terms. Wait time is typically 5-20 minutes.

Easy to get to his location, parking is great.
