I called because our insurance lists her as my PCP and I was trying to book an appointment. The receptionist informed me that there is a $41.76 monthly fee to use their system and asked if I was okay with it before proceeding with the booking. I reported this to my insurance and switched doctors immediately after her tone changed to “it’s optional” once my insurance contacted them. I’ve never encountered anything like this. It's already difficult enough to pay for insurance and out-of-pocket costs, and now there's an additional charge for a system that patients didn’t choose to use to see a provider. Almost every provider uses Epic.
