US Foods CHEF'STORE's meat prices a breath of fresh air, as long as you're willing to break down the bulk meat. I bought the ribeye with lip, and it was $8.59/lb compared to WinCo @ $13.29 on sale.

Get yourself this knife - Mercer BPX Breaking Butcher Knife, 10 Inch M13714
and this knife - Mercer Culinary M23820 Millennia Black Handle, 6-Inch Curved, Boning Knife

These two knives are outstanding and you can get both for around $52 on Amazon.

Then, go watch 'The Butcher Wizard' on YouTube to learn how to break down large/bulk cuts of beef and pork.

Like the other reviews, their prices are comparable to bulk at Smart & Final and Costco, depending on the sales/ad prices. We found some items were expensive (or cheaper) than Costco, depending on the ads.

Amazing selection of meats and lots of variety! E.g, they carry frozen oxtail and pork feet!

Some of the equipment were slightly cheaper (or more expensive) than those at Chef’s Toys, depending on the advertisement.

Pretty good prices on meat, but it seemed to be out what I wanted, maybe because of a Labor Day weekend rush. Also, there price on eggs and some of the other commodity items seemed high compared to Costco and Safeway.
I will try them again in a few weeks to see if the meat availability issue was just a fluke.

Have to be careful with the item’s labels & prices. When checking out. I caught them so far more than 3 times already over charge my cart or even do double charge your cart. They did it wrong and they put you back in the line to do the refund/recharge. Waste time!

The employees are awesome....super helpful & personable. The selection is pretty good. However, we've had to point out obviously spoiled fruits & veggies a few times (it should have been noticed by employees). They do have good prices on some things, but I would suggest searching prices while shopping bc there is a chance that you might be getting one of their way overpriced items. Just a heads up!
