I was treated terribly by Sinat, the nurse. She was extremely rude to me and yelled at me over my wound care concerns while she was treating me. She yelled at me in front of all the staff, saying, "You have to earn respect; don't just expect it." I have never been treated so poorly in a hospital setting. She told me I had no idea what I was talking about, but I have been struggling with edema and wounds for over 10 years.
I told her the wraps were too tight, and she yelled at me, saying I had no idea what I was talking about, that she had 4 years of experience, and that she knew what she was doing.
On the other hand, Nurse Daisy is very nice and welcoming. She has always treated me with respect and has always listened to my concerns. All the other staff are wonderful, but if you need wound care, please refrain from going to Sinat.
She also went as far as to throw my leg off the exam table. I asked her to be nice to me and treat me with respect, and she laughed at me.
I’m extremely disappointed and feel discouraged coming here now. No one should be treated this way.

I am so incredibly grateful to Dr. Bigelow, Corryn, Bob, Kevin, Maria and the rest of the team at HMS. I had sudden loss in November and an ENT (from Stanford Emeryville) who didn't take me seriously at all - and barely even attempted treatment for my condition. I came to hyperbaric through my own research. I told Dr. Bigelow my sob story and she and her team did a phenomenal job getting insurance to approve me for treatment, getting me in quickly (time is a major factor in treating SSNHL) and treating me. The entire team is communicative, kind, and they educate you and look out for you every step of the way. It has been such a hard time for me and they have been one of the few beacons of hope I've had. I had to move to the East Coast in the middle of treatment, and they've continued to help me transition to a new facility. I can't thank this team enough. It feels like ever since COVID, it's almost impossible to get real care from Western medical providers. This group is one of the rare exceptions. I felt truly cared about here - and that's something you don't find very many places anymore. Highly recommend considering Dr. Bigelow and HMS. They are so professional, so efficient, and such lovely people.

I attempted Hyperbaric treatment for chronic pain (crps). There was no reduction in pain post treatment. $5k is a very costly risk so be cautious if you are doing the treatment for pain. Appointments with Dr. Bigelow consistently felt rushed. There also was no follow up from the team after treatment which was disappointing. Treatment was not covered by insurance.

To who may concern.
This is what I experienced while receiving services at the Hyperbaric Medical Services at the wound care clinic.
The staff was very knowledgeable and explained to me thoroughly the experience I would have in the hyperbaric chamber.
I had regular reevaluations of my wound and progress. As the sessions continued they coordinate my therapy with my doctors.
I always found the atmosphere in the clinic was very positive.
I found the staff there to be very friendly and professional.
Sincerely
Edward kenney

The Staff is incredible here-and I absolutely speak from experience as I’ve been a patient with EVERY Wound Care center at EVERY hospital in San Francisco, with ALL the varying degrees of success and not!! There is not one staff member here, not one, who has not personally gone out of their way to assist Me, with all my medical needs-but always directing me to where I can receive help if they cannot help.
An Outstanding Staff-and I have seen ‘em all in SF.
If You have the type of leg wounds that nobody else can fix, or Diabetic issues-by all means come to the Hyperbaric Clinic. They are the BEST.

I had a very good experience at Hyperbaric Medical Services. The doctors and staff were all friendly and very helpful. They took the time to explain everything that was happening and make sure I was as comfortable as possible. They have an excellent knowledge base of how the hyperbaric sessions were helping my recovery from a serious wound that required multiple surgical procedures.

Yesterday was my first time in this center after my surgeon recommended to do a couple more sessions would help me to heal faster. They emailed me an extensive paper work, very detailed and rushed me to return them if I wanted same day treatment because Dr. Bigelow has to have a zoom meeting with me before going there for the treatment. Dr. Bigelow was unorganized on the zoom meeting and asked the same questions that was on the forms that I had filled earlier(I really didn't see the point of the zoom call). Ok now I am approved to go in and get the treatment. My appointment was at 3pm but Dr. Bigelow insisted that I be there by 2:30 although I had told her that I had a prior appointment with my surgeon and I won't make it much earlier. BTW when I called and asked the cost they announced $350. That was exactly what I had paid in different center in San Rafael so I thought that was what I was supposed to pay as my insurance won't cover it. I was there a little before 3pm. They made me wait because Dr. Bigelow wanted to see me first. She asked me again the same questions filled previously on the forms. She tried to look inside my ears, but she told me that she wasn't able to see inside my ear canal because of something I can't remember. Then they made me wait AN HOUR AND A HALF before they take me in the chambers. I booked another appointment for today. This morning I wanted first to pay for the session yesterday, as all the employees were gone by the time I was out of the chambers. To my surprise there was an undisclosed charge of $250 for Dr.'s visit, plus $375 for the treatment and $75 for the chamber's technician (I don't exactly recall what they called that charge). So this thing costed me $700 and not $350. When I contested the $250 visit which was absolutely useless and unnecessary. Dr. Bigelow insisted that she did a physical. Really!!!! I paid for yesterday's session and left their office and will never return. They are unorganized, don't care for you as a patient all they want is your money. I forgot to mention that Dr. Bigelow was insisting that I make my insurance pay for it and was suggesting that I need between 10 and 20 sessions.
