I really love my therapist here! The front desk staff are also super friendly as well as the receptionist on the phone whenever I need help. Highly recommend NEMS to anyone who needs Medi-Cal covered services and wants a smooth, helpful experience w/ friendly staff 🙂

Their pharmacy staff have no patience for patients' questions and have bad attitudes

Went pick up medicine at their pharmacy. Temperature check on entry. Didn't like that people stand too close to service windows when waiting for service and hung around the window once they were done. No enforcement of social distancing. Worker asked me to set up, but I didn't really want to with other person only 1 ft away. They didn't sanitize service window between customers either.

Don't go if you're nonbinary/trans. I went for my initial checkup, so my new PCP asked a bunch of questions. At one point, she asked my gender and when I said "nonbinary" she got super uncomfortable and stumbled over her words. She kept pushing me to go to a full-service gender clinic instead. It's not like I was asking for bottom surgery right from the get-go, I just wanted a checkup and to ask about therapy. But, I guess being nonbinary means I can only be served at a gender clinic? After that, a staff member from the mental health department came in and said I should go somewhere else for therapy because they only do short-term therapy. What does that even mean? Am I too crazy for them? Neither of these people actually helped me to find care, they just wanted me to go somewhere else.
