I ALWAYS have a pleasant experience when going here as a patient & as a caregiver. Of course no one is perfect & the job of the entire hospital staff has to find difficultly daily there but they also have lives of their own & are entitled to having snappy days. Try to make them smile when you see any worker down at enloe! They are amazing! Kimmi &Greg the cleaning crew is amazing! Top tier!

Recently, I’ve been dealing with severe pain, which has led me to visit urgent care multiple times. The first time I went, urgent care sent me to the ER in an ambulance, even though I didn’t feel an ambulance was necessary. When I arrived at the ER, I was told there was nothing wrong with me, despite continuing to experience significant pain.

Then, this past Friday night, I had to go to the ER again. They took some tests and X-rays, yet when I asked about my X-ray results, a nurse told me he had not looked at them. I was also told that the doctor’s job was only to ensure I didn’t have a life-threatening emergency essentially, that they were only checking to see if I was in immediate danger of dying. This response was incredibly frustrating. If I’m in severe pain, undergoing tests, and seeking medical attention, it seems unreasonable that no one is actually responsible for reviewing critical results.

To make matters worse, when a nurse entered my ER room, he immediately looked at the person accompanying me and asked if I spoke English, despite having just looked up my name. This felt prejudiced and unnecessary, as he seemed to assume I didn’t speak English based solely on my name. When I am in pain, I don’t understand why his first concern was whether I spoke English, instead of simply addressing me directly and trying to help.

After visiting the ER twice, I went back to urgent care again, hoping to get some answers. However, I ended up waiting for three hours, only for them to suggest doing another EKG putting me in what felt like an endless loop with no resolution. It seemed like I was being repeatedly sent back and forth without anyone actually addressing the root cause of my pain.

Overall, my experience has been frustrating, exhausting, and deeply disappointing. I have been seeking medical care for a real issue, yet I feel like I’ve been dismissed, repeatedly sent in circles, and not taken seriously. All I want is proper medical attention and answers so I can find relief from my pain.

How one review differs from the other, how one person blasts this place, and how another found it to be an efficient place, with staff well mannered and with kind demeanor. When someone arrives at an Emergency Room is because mostly for serious reasons, and probably the last place one thought they wanted to be. I seen a lot worst emergency rooms, where besides a full room with long waits, it seemed everyone around was way too busy to care. Enloe Emergency Department did not act that way. I was treated with a lot of respect, regardless my walk of life, and yes, it took a fair amount of time waiting, but different aspects of what was needed I felt were executed with professionalism and above average nice treatment. Blood was drawn by an extremely competent young nurse, meaning the magic touch for who really enjoys the approaching needle? X Rays at the hands of a dedicated male nurse, with only encouragement that frankly made me appreciate it. Ended on a bed in a nice warm room and immediately after a vibrant and polite doctor with an assistant proceeded to allay my built up fears, no, this time it was not really bad news. Treated well, dispensed with two shots for my pain by the capable hand of a great emergency room nurse, who used the word love more than once, classy and kind and frankly, like all the staff so far, an asset to the institution. Yes, first time in Chico at Enloe, bowed to my caregivers who excelled while I was under their care, including the administrative young woman who was frankly very nice. Was it my lucky day where all my stars fell in place? Don't think so, a well oiled machine is no trick of the light. 4.5 Stars.

We were visiting Chico when our young son with a history of complex lung issues fell ill. We were welcomed to the ER and entered triage promptly. We had a short wait before the nurse, Kira (usually in ICU) brought us back. Dr. Butcher assessed our son promptly and kindly. This wasn’t a slow day in the ER but all the staff were really remarkable, including the man who did our registration. Thank you Enloe ER team, specifically Kira and Dr Butcher for your warmth and efficient comprehensive care. We knew we were in good hands right off the bat.

That night, I agreed to be moved up to the second floor of the ER because the nurse recommended it is quieter up there. Unfortunately, what she said was not true. My experience on that floor was a nightmare. I couldn't sleep at all due to some loud disturbing noises that continued on throughout the night. The attending nurse did nothing to help calm down my anxiety. They made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe in that environment. Sorry

Came in with my father in law who has needed medical attention for dementia for quite some time, and has been very very resistant to any help. Finally got him to Enloe after three emergency visits to St. Elizabeths in Red Bluff, which had very little positive outcomes. Here at Enloe, the emergency room staff and security personnel were very understanding and eager to help, they got him safely out of the car and into a room, with positive attitudes. It is difficult to get help for someone who refuses and these guys really made the process much easier. I am confident that finally my father in law will get the care he has been needing, and I feel he will have a positive experience, all things considered.

A big thanks to the late-night emergency room staff and security. Really, we couldn't be happier about the care you're giving.

So grateful for the wonderful people at Enloe. We needed to treat my minor child with autism for abscesses. They are above the cut. They went above and beyond to make the procedure as comfortable as possible. The wonderful planning of nurse Baylee and Dr. Dixon, made for a flawless procedure. And I couldn’t be more grateful. The efforts of the staff are so appreciated. There were a total of 8 staff members to help. And I just want to thank all of you
