If I could give them negative stars, I would. DO NOT USE THIS GROUP IF YOU WANT TO RECEIVE CARE! At this point, every doctor (13 different offices) they have given me to find an obgyn has been unable to take me. Either the office is permanently closed, the doctor that they have told me to see has not been practicing for years, the line is just busy and busy and busy, or the wait to see them is months and months out. Even for something urgent. I decided to pay for my own midwives and ultrasound while trying to navigate finding basic OB care. We found out I have a high risk pregnancy and was just diagnosed with two complications which need to be seen by a specialist and the SAME THING has happened as trying to get into an OB. It is weeks and I have seen neither. It’s so bad, that one of the referrals they gave me had a phone number for one office and an address for a totally different one in a whole different city. They weren’t associated with one another at all and neither could help me. I waited 3 business days to find that out and now I have to wait 3 business days again for a more complete list of docs because they exhausted the original one with no luck. INSANITY. They will give you the runaround and keep you on hold for 20-30 min every time to find out that they can’t help you. You will never be able to find anyone who can actually see you as their list hasn’t been updated in at least 5 years (I know this because one doc on there hasn’t practiced in that long). My primary care office said this is the only medical group that they have had this problem with. Steer clear, for the love of God. This place makes me sick.

The medical group lacks customer service in every sense of the word. While my primary doctor is excellent, the other contracted doctors are not very good. Unfortunately, my primary doctor alone is not enough of a reason to stay with this group. They approve appointments but not necessary supplies. Their referrals are to doctors who are not accepting new patients. They do not return emails or phone calls. They contract with the absolute worst providers. I cannot recommend any way to make this group any more horrible. This group needs to improve its patient customer service.

I'm beyond frustrated and deeply disappointed with this medical group. As a recently diagnosed cancer patient, I’ve gone through an exhausting process of imaging and oncology appointments to finally get a treatment plan in place. This morning, I met with my oncologist, and everything was scheduled for MY PROCEDURE NEXT WEDNESDAY, which had already received prior approval weeks ago. I even picked up all the necessary pre-op medications weeks ago.

But this afternoon, I received a call from the hospital informing me that this medical group is no longer affiliated with UCSD. This is not only unacceptable but also UNETHICAL! How can you abruptly drop a patient's care without any notice or grace period? We're dealing with life and death here, and such sudden changes are not just inconvenient—they're dangerous. I will be reporting this issue to every relevant department. This kind of treatment is beyond not okay.

If there was a way to give lower than a 1 star review this is the place i would provide it. Worst customer service, worst group of medical professionals, and the lack of care they provide to their members is unbelievable. Do whatever you can to avoid these guys.

Don’t work with this insurance group…they don’t approve anything even if it’s medically necessary, they work with the worst doctors. They don’t care about the well being of there patients. We got letters and approval from 2 drs to see a specialist and it was denied twice…changing groups immediately.

Absolutely horrible medical group. Customer service is a joke. Supervisors refuse to take calls. Specifically Steve. Convienently do not receive portal messages from PCP or specialists. I have to call and be middle man to get any referral processed. Have contracts with specialists with no new patients accepted. They have no urgent cares for my children anywhere near me. Can not wait to get out from under this horrible medical provider!

As was reviewed 3 months ago by another member the phone system at Prospect Medical does not work. Press 2, then 1, then 1 for English and the line just hangs up. Even pressing 2 for Spanish just hangs up the call.

I would have chalked it up to the system being down, until I saw another review with the same exact problem. THREE MONTHS AGO!

Shame on a medical care provider for having a contact system that is flawed. I would not choose this group again.

Actually referred me to an orthopedic doctor that does not take my insurance! This group obviously has no contact with my primary doctor as they continuously call me to schedule a wellness exam even though I told them I had one. Got to the point where I had to block them. They don’t listen, obviously have no clue how HMO insurance works. I will call my insurance company and tell them to change my medical group ASAP. Just awful!!!
