Nobody comes here on a winning streak, and I was no exception. But my experience at Canyon Ridge truly changed my life. My therapist, Jill R., is not only an outstanding professional but an even better human being. Jill embodies compassion, empathy, and unwavering support. She’s caring, non-judgmental, and genuinely invested in her clients’ well-being—I could go on and on.

Through my sessions with Jill, I’ve gained the tools and confidence to enjoy life in ways I never thought possible. I know how difficult it can be to make the decision to seek help—it takes courage. But I can say with complete certainty: going to Canyon Ridge is life-changing.

I hope someone in leadership reads this and realizes what a gem they have in Jill. She is an absolute angel and personifies everything you could ever hope for in a therapist.

I also want to give a HUGE shoutout to the support staff, especially Cecilia. Her kindness, understanding, and compassion were felt every day. She made each person feel valued and special, and her presence was such a comforting part of the journey.

I am forever grateful for my time at Canyon Ridge. Thank you for giving me the tools to reclaim my life.

My experience there at Canyon Ridge Hospital really allow me to fully focus on my mental health and the treatment plan that followed. I'm extremely grateful for all of the staffs especially in unit 3 for their support during my time of recovery from top down. I felt safe most importantly and I was not alone throughout this journey. So for that I'm blessed to be here today. Thank you Lord 🙏🏿. Don't be afraid to ask for help. This facility is filled with love, compassion and many more...

Thank you Canyon Ridge Hospital

I’m so grateful I was sent to this facility. The entire staff is extremely helpful, caring, and patient. The average stars does not do it justice. It is truly a 5 star place. The food was great and the routine was helpful for my stabilization and transition to full recovery. Don’t hesitate when considering this place for yourself or a loved one if the situation gets to this point, though I urge you to seek help before you get to this point. Thank you so much to the professionals at this facility top to bottom.

I was forced to sit in a room from 7am to 8pm watching Disney channel, the entire 72 hour hold I was there I got therapy once. Restricted outside access most of the time, never saw the sun except once for about 30 minutes. The food gave my roommate food poisoning and they fed us day old food more than once. Also gave me the wrong dosage amount and then cut me off completely when I left the mental hospital. Pretty sure this whole place is just fraud considering no matter how much better you get they request more holding time as well as never actually checking up on you.

Also one of the patients knocked out a couple nurses and harmed a few others in the span of a couple minutes, he was left free to roam around with us when he wanted.

I had a patient here and although I appreciate the work the staff does, I think there's still huge room for improvement. For example, they leave the patients in a room watching Disney all day, with the only exception being the individual therapy where they get to go to a separate room. Everything else is conducted in the same room.

They are only allowed to go outside if it's sunny and only for a short period of time, about less than an hour a day.

A patient attacked my patient and no one from staff saw it happen apparently (they should keep low threshold patients separately to prevent this perhaps) and they notified me but I chose not to press charges only because the way they described it made it seem a lot less serious than it actually was.

The patients are only allowed to go to the cafeteria if their therapist clears them to do so.
If you bring clothing for your patient, make sure not to use your own personal carry bag or backpack, especially if it's nice, because it WILL be stolen like they stole mine; they told my patient that I had picked up the bag in the morning and gave them all their belongings in paper bags at discharge time. Ridiculous.

Overall, I think more activities that are safe could be incorporated so that the patients don't feel so lost while being held in the facility.

as someone who was sent here before I wouldn’t recommend sending your family here. You are put in a room all day with a bunch of other unstable girls, watching Disney plus for hours. group therapy and therapy daily were fine but we were not allowed outside due to the rain and I felt that it did not help my mental being in a plain room with just Disney plus, crayons if you are lucky , and girls being angry and sad. We were able to go outside one day for an hour and I felt that was the biggest relief getting fresh air finally. I was there on a 72 hour hold and during those hours I had no contact with any of my family. They have a list of names so you can have phone time for 5 mins and they go down it , but everyday I was not allowed to the first day they said they didn’t have enough time for me and I was like okay with it so I waited the next day to not be able to either, and when I asked about it they said to wait my turn but other girls had already gone twice while I hadn’t at all. There was an incident where a girl was holding the phone for longer than 5 minutes and got yelled at , so she proceeded to try and break the telephone . We were no longer allowed to go on the phone for the rest of the day. Thankfully one of the nicest nurses let me sneak into it and call my parents for 3 minutes. The showers were awful it felt like being sprayed with a hose hurt so bad to shower in, and you get a soap for your body and hair. You would not sleep in here either they would check in every 15 minutes and it would wake you up every single time not to mention hearing the girls crying or screaming , I felt more drained being in there than the time I was in the actual hospital. You are fed junk food majority of the time until you are cleared to go to the cafeteria and have normal food with some type of fruit or vegetables.

I want to thank Lety Night Leader, she has been amazing. She helped me so much during my stay. Listened and not ignored me. She sure does know how to treat an individual with mental health needs the appropriate way. She sure went above and beyond. Explained to me about my 5150 hold and how the process was. My rights and how to maintain a positive attitude during my stay. Kuddos to her. She is an amazing leader, and very caring for her patients at the hospital. I would definitely want to return. She is a great lead to example overall.
