This hospital saved my life I was dying I needed emergency surgery and they took care of me two nights in hospital, after surgery. The doctor was great and nurses were very nice and always came for me when I called or when I was due for medication. The emergency room wasn’t bad but I did notice some weird attitude from one nurse and I noticed other reviews said similar. Luckily my mom and husband were there to help doctors navigate what was wrong with me which was unknown at first..

My experience at South Coast Global Medical(Emergency) was deeply disappointing and disgraceful. I came in during a medical crisis, expecting compassionate and professional care but what i received instead was none of that at all. I was met with dismissiveness, neglect, and lack of concern for my well being. I was experiencing physical pain and panic symptoms which I made clear to the “nurse” at front. The nurse was not acting professional at all, I noticed a doctor walk in to work and he gave me a condescending look. Thats when I knew i definitely didn’t want to stay in an unsupportive environment in my condition and I left. I got better care somewhere else. I plan to report this place to the county as this was quite unacceptable.

Both of my parents were admitted to this hospital's ER & ICU units this year, and I have nothing but praise and gratitude for the doctors, nurses, and staff there. They are extremely efficient, competent, and compassionate. They provided excellent support and thorough communication with all of our questions in a timely manner. Dr. Benavides, and ICU Nurses (Anna, Mimi, and Jeanette) were exceptional and are true earth angels. My family is forever grateful for all this hospital does. Thank you!

My mom wasn’t feeling well and I brought her here. The lady in the front taking our information was RUDE. She gave us attitude and looked annoyed the whole time. I asked for a cup of water because my mom kept getting cough attacks and when I asked her she gave me the biggest attitude and said they don’t give out water. Which I understand, but when a patient is feeling ill and uncomfortable please don’t make their experience worst. I didn’t feel comfortable or safe leaving my mom alone. I had her text me if she felt uneasy because I wasn’t allowed to be with her.

I was brought it the ER after a car accident. The doctor asked me a couple questions and I never saw him again. The attending nurse was rude. I was discharged and was never given results for the CT scan or chest x-ray. Only the sprain in my neck. was addressed. Overall, the hospital was not clean, service was horrible and staff was rude.

So let's be really real here. This hospital isn't the newest building in the best neighborhood. They are aware. But I'm not going to hold that against them. They are doing a great job with the resources they have available to them in a community that is expecting a lot more of them than they have been given the tools for. Despite being undeservedly screamed at and berated by people coming in off the streets, the staff was so kind and helpful and helped me through what was an unexpected medical situation that ended up turning into a surgery with a multiple day stay. The nurses especially were amazing and checked on me regularly to make sure I was doing okay since I was all alone at the time. If you end up here, just make sure you are patient and show some grace and treat the staff well and I'm sure you'll have a great experience. Because you might be having a horrible day that is ending you up in the hospital, but they are having to deal with everyone on their worst days everyday. Thanks again to the staff at SBCMC! 💖

If I could give this place no stars I would! This hospital is ghetto and unprofessional. You can have someone dying and they won’t help or transfer the person to a better equipped hospital. I really don’t know how this place is still open! My family member was literally brain dead and instead of sending him to a better hospital they kept him there for 2 days straight not allowing the family to see him and not giving answers of what the next step will be.

In the ER room the lady's in the front make fun of the people. There was this man that was not feeling good and littlerly after he left they started laughing the ER waiting room is so cold like they want the rest of the people getting sick and yet the take there whole time talking while people here are suffering in pain. The security are just sitting there in a chair doing nothing and there was this other security who said what do u have in ur backpack and I said "my sweater" and he's like "mhm ur sweater" like being so rude and I still showed him and he giving me additude. The nurses say less they just chit chat and like no letting people in. In my opinion, this hospital should people who will treat you with respect and will let u in. Also there air condition should not be on it is really cold in here and at least 5 people told me that it is cold in here. People could get sick. At least here at this hospital they want you to get worse than what you are.
