First thing, if anyone with any clout at the VA actually reads these - do whatever you must to ensure you keep Dr. Brown (Orthopedic Surgeon, recently retired from UCLA) ON STAFF. He knows what he’s talking about, prescribes a realistic, clear, and attainable course of treatment, and it is very obvious to me that he actually cares.

Okay onto everyone else. Excellent service at every appointment I’ve been to at this clinic. From check-in to walking me out from the treatment rooms. Maureen Gomez is lovely and bubbly and energetic which is a nice vibe to create when you’re at what is otherwise often described as a gloomy and depressing experience at any typical VA facility.

I’m gonna stay in the Ventura area just so that I may continue to receive this level of exceptional care at this particular VA facility. It is quite refreshing.

Wonderful people working there and I don't feel rushed speaking with my doctor. To many ungrateful people leaving undeserved poor reviews here.
The only one complaint I would have is their canteen cafeteria, it's a bit of a comical joke. It's actually a soda machine and a snack machine, I kid you not, see photo.

My veteran husband has benefited from the clinic. He received blood work. The technician was very accurate with the procedure causing little pain with the needle sticking. We were told by his PA the results in detail. Eye imaging for diabetes damage was easy for my husband. We are waiting for the appointment for further eye tests. Ear washing for wax build up is our next appointment. The front reception area has very trained people. All of my question's have been answered.
Care and kindness are important to me. Since my husband has dementia. I received both at the Ventura County Veterans Clinic.

I was pleasantly surprised by the staff and this facility!

FIRST: This is a beautiful NEW facility with a very well trained, caring and empathic staff.

SECOND: I’ve been coming here for about a year for medical care, mental health care, PT/OT & dental care.

EVERY staff member that I have encountered has been very competent, very friendly & very caring.

IMHO: Anybody leaving a bad review about THIS place either has a chip on their shoulder or has a systemic problem with the VA as a whole.

I have been using this place since it opened. I always complain about security not greeting people when they come in. (Minor) Other than that I've never had an issue with anyone there. Doctors, nurses and people in admitting are always welcoming and professional.

Labs- I go for labs and what do I find we not only have to check-in but after initial check-in you are told to go to another person and check-in there as well. How much check-in does 1 person do to get labs. Also the labs test has been screwed up numerous times leaving me to have to return and have the very same labs done. Once would be ok but my labs have been screwed up over 3 times. Not all veterans have transportation or the time/ability to keep going back for the same stuff to get done due to their mistakes. This is just 1 issue.

Called in March to make an appointment to get a new primary since I had just moved here. Next available was not until October. Come time for my appointment and morning of appointment they call me to let me know the doctor called out and my appointment was canceled. Called back in to schedule next available appointment, NOT UNTIL FEBRUARY. Are you guys serious?
