Dr. Erdman made this intimidating test, the Heiderlberg stomach acid test, a breeze. He took his time to walk me through the process ahead of time so that I would know exactly what to expect. He went above and beyond and took the time to listen to my health concerns and give me advice and other possible tests to try. He had even studied some my lab data ahead of our appointment, which was outside the scope of this service. There was never any pressure on his part, but a genuine interest in helping. I would highly recommend both this test and Dr Erdman!

Excellent experience with this exam and Dr. Michael Erdman's administration of it. He was incredibly professional, informative, responsive, and empathic during the entire process. The exam itself was a little over an hour in my case, and while I experienced some pre-test anxiety, there was no need to worry: it is straightforward (swallow a capsule the size of a standard supplement, attached to a medical-grade thread which you really do not feel; you hold an external monitor which syncs as a sensor to the capsule and is able to read the PH level in your stomach). I was told several years ago that I have high acid levels and prescribed a Proton Pump inhibitor to which I reacted very badly. This test has put my mind at ease, indicating my stomach acid production is within normal range, and allowing me to use it as a further diagnostic tool to "baseline" against for additional treatment of stomach issues. I would absolutely recommend this test as administered by Dr. Erdman to everyone who wants to heal from GI issues and start with clear, conclusive information! Cost is not covered by insurance, but the test is well worth it (appx $400) and your time.

I've been struggling with some form of reflux for quite sometime, with conflicting directions on how to treat it. Knowing whether your stomach is acidic or not is immensely helpful in creating a plan, and one of the absolute first things I'd recommend doing.

I can't recommend Dr. Erdman enough, he's an amazing practitioner.

Here's why:

I was apprehensive in getting the test done, after all it is a bit weird. He completely reassured me, didn't rush things at all, and gave me a very good understanding of what we were doing.

The test was actually not at all as invasive as I thought it'd be. Having Dr. Erdman run through things with me was incredibly insightful, I only wish I had seen him a lot sooner. If you're suffering from any sort of digestive related issue, you're going to want to have him on your team.

Finally got in to see Dr. Michael, he was honestly the best. I was like a little concerned going in. My ENT recommended him and I am so glad I went in. Was kind of shocked by the results, they totally helped us create a path to health.

Wanted to take a moment and share my experience, I'll start off by saying swallowing the pill attached to a rope and pulling it back out after the test was over, was the easiest part of it, specially when the person conducting the test knows what he's doing and makes the process a smooth one....Thanks again Michael...
