Walked in to this clinic with an urgent appointment. The receptionist, a blonde gal, was super friendly, welcoming, and informative! She was the only redeeming quality of this place. It is immediately apparent that none of the other staff care about their patients. The medical assistant who prepped me for the clinician, Blackwell, was rude, demeaning, barked orders at me, and questioned if I was sure I filled out my paperwork correctly. As someone who has worked many years in a doctors office, I strive to be understanding but I was truly at a loss. The clinician made no attempt to show that he cared, didn’t ask any questions, or listen to my complaints. It was very evident that we were being shooed out the door. Again I will say that the receptionist was the only ray of sunshine in this office. Overall, I don’t think I would visit this clinic again for any health needs unless they retrain their entire medical staff on bedside manner and how to at least appear they care about your problems.

I visited on a weekend and was seen quickly, despite a full waiting room. I saw PA Michael Blackwell who did a chest x-ray to confirm that I had pneumonia and prescribed medication and did a follow up visit to confirm it was gone. He went above and beyond and tested me for Valley Fever. I have been there in the past for a UTI and they dispense the medication from the office. It's so hard to get into my primary care provider and I feel very re-assured to have Urgent Care of Atascadero there when I need them!

I went to Carbon first, and was turned away at 10 minutes to 5 (there were 4 people ahead of me). So I decided to try here. Not only were they open to 6:30 instead of 6 at Carbon, I was able to see a doctor in less than 10-15 minutes. Great staff who were fast, friendly and professional.

We have come to this facility several times recently, a physical for my son, shingles/poison oak for my husband, persistent cough issues for me. We have all LITERALLY gotten IN AND OUT! So quickly and efficiently. I've never experienced a better urgent care. 100%.

Very friendly staff, but the last two times I've been there, they call in the prescriptions to the wrong pharmacy. Not even a pharmacy i use. It's very frustrating as i need to start the anti biotic sooner than later. Frustrating.

Update. 30 min later waiting at costco. still, no one has called in my prescription. I called again to their office and a very friendly lady told me she would work on it. I guess they have to cancel the prescription at the wrong pharmacy and put it in at costco.

It's too bad that in this day and age, no one cares, really. I have no recourse but to whine online.

2nd update. 30 more min waiting. Costco says it was filled at atas yesterday. The urgent care says i have to call them now to figure it out. Right before i hang up she says she will call them again. 2 days without anti biotics. Foot swelling. Have to now go find another place to get foot looked at. Bummed out

This place was extremely unprofessional. I brought my husband here an hour before closing because we work nights and had just woken up. He has been struggling with a horrible cough, chest and back pain and we were worried about pneumonia since he has had it in the past and said it felt similar. Getting him to go to the doctor or urgent care is a feat in itself because he refuses to go until he has no other option but to go so the fact that he agreed to go is enough for our concerns to be warranted. His O2 had dropped to 92% and he had a slight fever early in the day, which is what ultimately made us get him checked out. A healthy, active young man destating is normally cause for concern. They did not allow me inside, only my husband but to have my husband come out to the car and tell me that he could hear the staff complaining outside of his room that we came in an hour before closing and they cant believe people would do that when they are open 12 hours a day. They continued to complain stating it would probably take him forever to do the paperwork since i had been helping him with it outside. We should not have to apologize for showing up within business hours nor should my husband have had to feel bad about going to seek medical help when sick. An hour before closing is a reasonable time to still show up to a business but to act as if it is unacceptable for someone to have health problems not within the designated time the employees deem okay is not acceptable. I'll make sure next time someone is destating and having health problems that we schedule their problems to happen at a more reasonable time for the employees since an hour before closing is just so despicable to them that they forgot how to act professionally.
After all of this, all our concerns were written off as unimportant. Will never go back and will make sure I let everyone know this is a horrible urgent care.
